Each business needs something different from training - it depends on the needs of your business, what level of the business needs the training and who your customers are.
We can work right across your business, from Senior Management/Board of Directors with diversity and equality training that focuses on strategic business issues and leadership through to middle management and shop floor staff. At mid level your training will focus on implementing strategy and promoting an inclusive culture, whether that relates to ethnic minorities, working mums or disabled employees.
At staff level we'll help your employees think about customer care and how they treat each person walking into the shop or office, and ultimately how that can affect the reputation and profitability of your business. We'll also work with you to identify how we can help you create a diverse workforce that is loyal and as effective as it can be.
Example Case Study
The challenge
Pathways Support Services is an organisation that works with local authorities to provide support and accommodation for young people. They help young people deal with their own personal care and management of everyday activities, and support them in becoming independent members of society. This private company was set up by two experienced social workers who were very aware that if they were dealing with local authorities their own equality and diversity awareness would have to be at the highest level.
The solution
Diversity People worked with Pathways Support Services to develop training with a great deal of delegate participation. The proactive approach we used was designed to challenge any existing bad practice and make every member of staff consider how they engaged with equality and diversity on a day to day basis. As a new business they were keen to start on the right track and shape a well-considered approach to equality and diversity issues.
The results
In our feedback from Pathways they used three words - challenging, focused and fun. Although they did not have any major internal issues to overcome they felt any queries they raised were answered by the facilitators in a knowledgeable way. After the training was completed Pathways noticed an immediate change in the level of confidence amongst the team and staff putting into practice what they had learnt. They have already asked Diversity people to carry out more training next year.
What they said...
"We wouldn't hesitate to instruct Diversity People again, principally because of the very positive experience and the great feedback we've had from our staff. They have an excellent understanding of the issues that are relevant to our sector and offer the private sector a window into how local government operate."
