Jane Hatton, Managing Director
After founding a successful training and consultancy company, Public Sector Providers Ltd, with 4 staff and 31 consultants, Jane offers extensive experience in awareness-raising workshops, bespoke management development programmes and training for specific groups of staff.
She understands the varying needs of different business sectors, having spent 2 years working as an engineer, 10 years as a social worker, 14 years as an independent trainer and several years running her own business. Jane has a unique combination of skills and experience - she is a disabled woman, finalist in the Stelios Disabled Entrepreneurs Award 2008, highly qualified holding a Certificate in Social Service, Further Education Teachers Certificate, MSc Human Resource Management and Post Grad Diploma in Training Management (Distinction) and published in both academic text books and journals.
She has used her life experience and theoretical knowledge to help companies engage with and retain existing customers while tapping into new markets. Much of her focus with private companies is helping them to enhance their reputation and become an employer of choice.
Jane is a single parent to two, now grown up, gorgeous daughters and is an accomplished, orchestra level violinist.
Gill Beards, Training and Development Manager
Gill has worked in both the public and private sector including 17 years at management level. Her career highlights have included leading a team of trainers on one of the largest IT projects in Europe, delivering extensive national training both on time and to budget. She uses her in-depth experience of tendering in the public sector to help private companies break into this lucrative field and embed equality into their business planning so they see maximum business benefits.
Gill holds an MSc Human Resource Development, Diploma in Training Management, and an Institute of Training and Development Certificate. She is also qualified in Psychometric/Personality Profiling Levels A & B and is an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier for awards D32, D33 and D34. She uses her qualifications and 25 years of experience in the practical training environment, whether that is dealing with equality and diversity or management and people development.
Gill is a self-confessed sports fanatic - she plays and coaches netball and loves watching cricket, football and athletics. Her other passion is using her own fruit and vegetables to make delicious meals for her two children (and the Labrador!)
Farah Hussain, Diversity Consultant
Farah focuses on helping organisations figure out what they need and has a solid track record of helping them achieve it. She has over fifteen years of experience specialising in designing and delivering training to senior managers in the areas of equality and diversity, personal development and cross cultural communications across a number of sectors including the pharmaceutical, motor rental and manufacturing/product industries.
Farah reflects her belief in the value of continuing professional development, with a BA (Hons) in Social Policy, an MA in Human Resource Management, a Certificate in Coaching and NLP Practitioner status. She uses her qualifications and sector knowledge to help companies increase their market share by grasping the true meaning of diversity, and helping businesses bring out the best in their people. She has helped companies retain and attract the best staff and improve the way they communicate, right across the business.
When she isn\'t navigating the ins and outs of business you can find Farah curled up with a good book or spending time with her family.
David Williams, Diversity Consultant
David\'s easy-going personality ensures he instantly bonds with his trainees, and there have been many of them during the last 20 years. He has spent the last two decades delivering personal, management and leadership development, equality and diversity training, anti-bullying and harassment, skills updating and recruitment and selection consultancy.
He has also designed and delivered programmes in negotiation skills, stakeholder management, work-life balance, innovation and creativity and training for trainers in business including a major bank, a leading food retailer and a food distribution company.
His commitment to equality and focus on real change had resulted in the embedding of a major change in policy and organisational culture to factory floor level and improved progress for employees to more senior management roles.
David isn\'t one for a quiet life, at home his five children, plus playing in a local jazz band and church organ keep him occupied.
Bernadette Wilde, Diversity Consultant
Bernie relishes the challenge of working with middle managers in private sector companies, specifically focussing on HR development, personal effectiveness and negotiation skills, time management and communication skills. As well as working with Diversity People, Bernie is an associate with Liverpool John Moores University Business Development Centre and holds an Institute of Leadership and Management Coaching qualification.
With extensive knowledge of the manufacturing industry she works with managers so they can deal more effectively with their teams and gain more confidence in their people management skills. Her training has ensured that companies are both legally complaint but also clearly see the benefits of diversity and reach a wider set of customers.
At the weekend you can find Bernie practising her new hobby, golf, although she doesn\'t think Tiger Woods has much to worry about yet.
Tracie Jolliff, Diversity Consultant
After spending many years working in the front-line of child protection work, Tracie has held a variety of management roles giving her a sound knowledge of business.
As a consultant she has played a key part in leading transformational organisational change including coaching and training for managers and executives. Part of this work was developing specific programmes for targeted equality themes around race and gender.
Tracie also currently works as an associate consultant for a leading university specialising in leadership and equality issues, and has undertaken research into systemic discrimination and how to address it. Tracie understands that successful training depends on excellent trainer skills so uses her sense of humour, knowledge and engaging personality to create change in business.
After she has finished a day\'s training Tracie goes home to three children and a variety of different roles she holds in her community. Her family enjoy good food and walking, debating (which sometimes migrates into arguing...) and the countryside, all with a generous dollop of laughter.
Simon Cox, Diversity Consultant
A Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development, Simon brings 19 years generalist and strategic human resources management experience. Having worked in corporate, directorate and consultancy roles he understands the complex design, development, review and implementation support needs in large organisations.
As a disabled person he combines his personal perspective with his knowledge of enabling individuals and organisations to deliver tangible improvements and change. His work in the private sector, with clients in the hospitality and telecommunications sector, has spanned mediation and career management to employment audits and disability confidence training for staff. His blended approach of training, coaching and consultancy delivers business success that equates to more profit.
Outside of business he\'s just as obsessed with changing things organically, but his focus is on feeding his family and 3 teenage children with home-grown fruit and veg. His escape is taking his trike up the hills of Wensleydale and enjoying the downhill return ride.
Richard Purser, Diversity Consultant
Richard has worked at the highest levels of organisations, reporting at CEO and MD level, dealing with Marketing, HR and CSR functions. He combines his theoretical knowledge including a Diploma in Marketing, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Chartered Marketer and banking exams with practical experience of achieving benefits to help organisations such as Kingfisher Plc with their international equality and diversity strategies.
As Head of Relationship Marketing for West Bromwich Building Society he saw a 10% increase in profits, and his work with Leicester City Football Club led to increased support from target communities, sponsorship from business and additional income streams. As a Contact Consultant for McConnells Marketing Agency their client improved previous response rates by 520%.
His focus on diversity specific marketing training and managerial diversity consultancy has helped companies identify new markets and develop strategies to reach them, removing the perception that diversity is about cost and compliance and presenting it as an opportunity for business generation.
Outside of work Richard is involved with community and charity work, acting as school governor for 14 years, trustee for a national charity and speaker for a child sponsorship charity. Married with two grown up daughters, he enjoys the gym and sports, getting his biggest thrill ever from flying a Tiger Moth.
